Results
Within two to three weeks after your procedure, the laboratory results will be sent back to the physician / clinician who performed the procedure. The result will be emailed directly to your physician or available for your physician review directly from Primex Portal. The physician’s office will contact you and advise the results and the appropriate follow up actions if any are required.
Procedure Results and What They Mean:
Normal result indicates that with greater than 99% probability the patient will not be diagnosed for NPC. Abnormal result is consistent with a diagnosis for NPC.
Test Result Normal. What next?
Result indicating normal do not preclude future abnormalities. Normal result indicates that with greater than 99% probability the patient will not be diagnosed for NPC. In the absence of other clinical findings the patient is considered normal. Like many other cancer checks available (ie. Cervical Cancer Check, Colon Cancer Check, Breast Cancer Check), it is important to check routinely on an annual basis. Early detection will save your life.
Test Result Equivocal. What does that mean?
Results showing a marginally exceed normal. We strongly recommend a recall and retest after 6 to 8 weeks. If this persists, speak with your ENT Specialist/Otolaryngologist for further clinical investigations or monitored.
Test Result Abnormal. What does that mean?
Speak with your ENT Specialist/Otolaryngologist to obtain a tissue biopsy for confirmation of NPC. Abnormal result is consistent with a diagnosis for NPC.
